A masterclass with Daniel & Clara open to artists, filmmakers and students of art, cinema and art history.

Drawing on over a decade of working together, Daniel & Clara will talk about living a creative life, sharing insights on the dynamic between life and art, staying true to your vision and finding your place in the art world.

In the morning Daniel & Clara will give an illustrated presentation about their practice, talking through their journey from first meeting in 2010 and making experimental feature films before expanding their practice into installation, performance, photography and mail art.

The afternoon will focus on their current exhibition The Lost Estate, they will speak about the making of this project with curator Rosy Gray and specifically give insights into working on a commission with a museum.

The day will end with an informal feedback session for participants to ask advice about their own practice. Daniel & Clara will share some survival strategies for artists and talk about the importance of building meaningful creative networks, collaborations and support groups.

About Daniel & Clara

Since meeting in 2010 Daniel & Clara have dedicated themselves to a shared life of creative experimentation, working across moving image, photography, performance and mail art to explore the nature of human experience, perception and reality. Their current projects focus on the fraught and complex relationship between humans and the natural world, particularly exploring the climate crisis as a psychological crisis and the ways in which this manifests in the imagination.
